Wellness Walks at Hutton-In-The-Forest
Mindfulness in the Lakes is thrilled to announce that mindfulness Wellness Walks will be arriving at this beautiful, historical home of Lord Inglewood, in May 2025.
The purpose of the walk will be to immerse yourself in nature and to have the opportunity of being liberated from your stresses. I will introduce you to everyday practices that will enable you to reduce your stress and anxiety levels; dampen pain receptors and build up emotional resilience - all in accessible ways that you can stack on top of things you will already be doing in your busy lives.
The walks will take place in aged woodlands, the habitat of much wildlife including red squirrels, roe deer and many species of birds. There are also wild-flower meadows, flowing becks and cascading ponds, terraces and a topiary garden to discover.
Walks will commence at 1pm and will be for approximately two and a half hours depending on the size of the group. However, you are welcome to enjoy the gardens from 10am as included in the price is free entry to the Gardens and Woodland Walk (normally £10). You may wish to treat yourself at Cloisters Tea Room and make a day of it!
Please meet me at the little wooden kiosk at the car park at 12.55pm or find me around the tea room and gardens from 10am if you want to chat.
Cost: £35 per person
Dates: Thursday 1st May & Sunday 4th May at 1pm

Mindfulness for Menopause and beyond
Are you hot, cold, confused, feeling unheard; wet, dry, crying, laughing, tired, oh so tired? If this is you, then come together with other women to share in the joy of discovering simple, everyday solutions to just being yourself again.
What the course will look like:
Wellness Walk: walk in beautiful surroundings, bathing in nature and its beauty whilst using the 5 senses to immerse yourself in the present moment without judgement; recognising in this pause who you are, what you want in this moment and what you need to let go of to give you the space to move forward at this time of your life.
A treasure hunt for the small pleasures in life, understanding the negativity bias in our brains and how to re-train it to become more positive.
‘Kindness to self’ meditation – to have the wherewithal to care for others, we must first care for ourselves – remember, you need to put the oxygen mask on yourself before you put it on others! Through words, imagery and breath, we will learn to have kindness and compassion towards ourselves and I will show you the tools with which to habitually nurture yourself.
Using small, mindful movements, we will move our bodies gently with the breath in a moving meditation finding ways to suit every mood and energy level we experience during menopause.
I will show you how to balance your emotional regulation system in order to regulate the hormones and neural transmitters we activate in our brains. We will learn where these are situated in our neural pathways and how we can re-wire the brain through simple, everyday activities that we can stack into our everyday lives to save time and energy and to make us feel so much better.
